Ludhiana police arrest one of main accused in hurting religious sentiments case
Ludhiana, November 13, 2021: The Commissionerate Police Ludhiana on Saturday have arrested one of main accused in a case of hurting religious sentiments.
The accused has been identified as Vasu Syal of Zira (Ferozepur).
Disclosing further details, Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that Vasu Syal is one of prime accused along with absconding Anil Arora in the case registered under Sections 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) of the Indian Penal Code at Division Number 3 police station on October 20.
CP told that during police investigation, we have found that in the viral audio clip, it was Vasu who firstly made derogatory remarks against Sikh Community and later it was Anil Arora.
He said that we have got vital information regarding Anil Aora’s whereabouts from Vasu’s interrogation and Commissionerate police is very close to arrest him as many teams of police led by ADCP (D) Jagatpreet Singh, Special Branch Head Inspector Beant Juneja, CIA Staff Head Harminder Singh and others are behind him.
He said that Vasu would be produced before local courts and would be taken on remand for further questioning in this case.
Bhullar told that seven accused persons have already been arrested in this case.
