Ludhiana, May 1, 2019: Simranjit Kaur - a native of village Chakar (Jagraon), Ludhiana District has brought laurels not only for Ludhiana but has made Nation proud by winning Silver medal in Boxing at the Asian Championship 2019 held few days ago in Bangkok.
Today morning on her arrival back to Ludhiana, Simranjit Kaur was accorded a grand welcome by Ravinder Singh District Sports Officer, Prominent District Sports Coaches, Advocate Harpreet Sandhu, Former Sahit Punjabi Academy President Prof. Gurbhajan Gill and several athletes and District level Players at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. Simranjit Kaur was accompanied by her mother and several residents of her native village. Advocate Harpreet Sandhu applauded Simranjit Kaur being the first girl from Punjab to attain Silver medal. She was presented traditional Phulkari and a memento by Ravinder Singh, District Sports officer. Simranjit shared that her next aim is to attain Gold medal in Olympics in my game Boxing.
