Ludhiana, October 1, 2013: The deputation of Federation of Tiny & Small Industries of India led by its president met KH Muniyappa, Union Minister for MSME at New Delhi on Monday and gave a detailed memorandum.

Madhav Lal, Secretary, MSME and Vishal Gagan, PS to Minister were also present.

Joginder Kumar, President, emphasised that the problems of Micro Sector are quite distinct from those of the SMEs/Corporates.

Joginder Kumar strongly urged upon the Minister, to segregate Micro Enterprises Sector from SMEs so that the sector could get focused attention at par with Small Business Administration in the developed countries and have a role in the policy formulation.

He also apprised that at present eyes and ears of the government are Corporates as Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council comprises CII, FICCI, Assochem and  10 Corporates.

The Micro Sector has no objection in case the government wants to provide any incentives deemed fit to SME, but not at the cost of Micro Sector.

Joginder Kumar also demanded that a special package should be granted to the Micro Sector, in view of the enormous contribution of this vital sector in the national economy. It is the real backbone of the economy. It is most unfortunate that CII, FICCI and Assochem claim that they represent the Micro Sector, he said.
