Authenticity is the key ingredient to make any character, show or film unforgettable in the minds of the audience. And, the recently launched MX Original Series Dharavi Bank has been making headlines for the powerful performances by its ensemble cast. The multi-talented Luke Kenny owned the visually challenged character, Michael on screen and elevated the narrative of this intense revenge thriller. To render this candid persona on screen, Luke’s eyes were completely shut with prosthetics, giving him minimal visual of the surroundings. Opening up about this experience, Luke Kenny tells us how he prepared for this role.

Luke Kenny said, “For Dharavi Bank’s Michael, I underwent one of the most difficult and complicated preparations. You know when one of your senses is blocked, you take some time to work around with the rest of them. But the credit for my performance goes to Hemendra Singh from NAB Worli who was immensely instrumental in guiding me through this preparation. Even though it was partial blindness and my eyes were completely shut with prosthetics, he explained / took me through everything seamlessly. I’m really glad Samit and team pushed me to do this because this is an experience I will never forget.”

With Dharavi Bank, MX Player brings to life the lesser-known world of Asia’s greatest slums, also known as Dharavi. Produced by Zee Studios, the series marks Suniel Shetty’s digital debut as the unattainable mafia king Thalaivan who is chased by a relentless tough cop - JCP Jayant Gavaskar essayed by Vivek Anand Oberoi. Taking down a criminal organization is simply one aspect of Dharavi Bank but above all - it is the strength of the mettle of the protagonist’s mental and moral sensibilities which are all put to the test.

The series also features a stellar cast comprising of Sonali Kulkarni, Freddy Daruwala, Shanthi Priya, Santosh Juvekar, Nagesh Bhosle, Siddharth Menon, Hitesh Bhojraj, Samikssha Batnagar, Rohit Pathak, Jaywant Wadkar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Bhavvana Rao, Shruti Srivastava, Sandhya Shetty, Pavitra Sarkar and Vamsi Krishna in key roles.
