Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates National Science Day
National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Science, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology under theme of Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat.
Jalandhar, March 21, 2024: National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Science, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology under theme of Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat.
Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Kaur, Department of Human Genetics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, attended the event as the chief guest and keynote speaker. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and the heads of the Departments of Science welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh on his opening remarks said that today's world is making striking developments only because of science. He further emphasized that the student should look at life with a scientific perspective while being interested in research and study in the field of science. He also congratulated the department of science for organizing such event.
The keynote speaker Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Kaur expressed her views regarding the importance of celebrating Science Day. She added that purpose of science should be to make the life of the humans from good to better. It should be for human development and not destruction.
On this occasion, 125 students from different colleges participated in inter-college slogan writing, power point presentation, best out of waste, rangoli, and poster presentation competitions.
At the end of the event, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Convener and Head, Department of Zoology, thanked the chief guests, teachers and students.
The stage was conducted by Dr. Amanpreet Kaur Sandhu, Dr. Upma Arora and Dr. Vikas Kumar. Other organizing committee members, Dr. Narveer Singh, HOD Physics, Dr. Amritpal Singh Nindrayog, Dr. Ranju Mahajan, Dr. Navneet Arora, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Bhupinderpal Singh, Dr. Geetanjli Kaushal, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Harshveer Arora, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Dr. Heminder Singh and Prof. Surbjit Singh also contributed in the successful organization of the various events.
