Lyallpur Khalsa College Culminates Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign

Jalandhar, August 08, 2024: NSS unit and Red Ribbon Club Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar Club under the directions of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, New Delhi concluded the Tree Plantation drive under the theme EK Ped Maa Ke Naam. 

Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh in his message appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers and motivated them to involve the community in these drives to increase the impact of these environmental activities. He advised that under the New Education Policy 2020 these types of community outreach programs can provide academic credits in coming years. He added that tree plantation drives at mass level are the need of the hour to maintain ecological balance. 

Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that this campaign was initiated in the college campus by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and it concluded with a plantation drive at Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Phagwara on Sunday. He added that 230 plants of Mango, Moringa, Drek, Sukhchain, Neem, Kali etc. were planted and 270 plants were distributed to the passer bys. During this drive, 23 NSS volunteers and 10 locals actively participated.
