Under the directions of Govt. of India to celebrate September as Poshan Maah, Grievances Cell LKC and NSS Units of LKC in collaboration organized a series of events to spread awareness about the themes of Poshan Maah which include diet, water conservation, Women empowerment, child health etc.

Jalandhar, September 25, 2022: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for the welfare of its students, staff and society. Under the directions of Govt. of India to celebrate September as Poshan Maah, Grievances Cell LKC and NSS Units of LKC in collaboration organized a series of events to spread awareness about the themes of Poshan Maah which include diet, water conservation, Women empowerment, child health etc. 

Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra in his message said that in the age of fast food, it has become very important for girls to be aware about the nutritious value of traditional recipes. He added that the health of women and children and water conservation are the burning issues. 

In this event, there were three competitions: Poster making, Slogan writing and nutritious recipe contest. Prof Geetanjali Moudgill and Prof. Ajitpal Singh were the judges in the poster making contest. Prof Hariom Verma and Prof Surinder Pal Mand judged slogan writing event and Prof Navdeep Kaur and Prof Raju Sharma were the judges of the Nutritious Recipe contest. 

Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Jasreen Kaur graced the event with her presence and congratulated the participants. She praised the effort of the Grievance cell and NSS unit and appreciated young students for showing keenness in the nutritious recipe contest. 

Prof Gagandeep Kaur incharge of Grievance Cell informed that 32 participants participated in these events. 

NSS Program Officer Prof Satpal Singh added that a collective effort is needed and NSS volunteers can be the ambassador of this mission to be spread in villages and cities. 

During this event, Prof Upma Arora, Prof Heminder Singh, Prof Surbjit Singh were present.
