Jalandhar, September 21, 2021: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is constantly striving for the promotion of folk heritage and folk dance bhangra along with education. Under this, the first Bhangra World Cup is to be organized by the college on October 23-24 and Facebook page (Bhangra World Cup, Lyallpur Khalsa College) launched by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. On this occasion, he said that the first Bhangra World Cup dedicated to Dr. Inderjit Singh. He informed that the launch of Bhangra World Cup Facebook page today was an attempt to bring Bhangra lovers from all over the world on one platform. He added that every information related to Bhangra World Cup would be provided through this Facebook page. Giving information about the telecast of Bhangra World Cup, he said that the presentation of Bhangra teams from abroad would be in online mode while the presentation of Indian Bhangra teams would be in offline college campus. He said that the presentations of both the days would be telecast live on the Facebook page of Bhangra World Cup and on the college's YouTube channel LKC Cultural. He confirmed that total 41 teams have sent their entires to the Bhangra World Cup. Out of which, 21 teams are from outside India.
On this occasion, Dr. Palwinder Singh Dean Cultural Affairs, Dr. Manohar Singh, Head Department of Computer Science and IT, Dr. Harjit Singh, Head Department of Mathematics, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Gagandeep Singh Dean Admission, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal Dean E-Data Management Cell were present.
