Lyallpur Khalsa College NCC Cadet selected for National Republic Day Parade

Jalandhar, January 20, 2024: Abhishek Kumar, BA second-year student of the Lyallpur Khalsa College will march in the 75th Republic Day celebrations on Kartavya Pathin New Delhi on 26 January, 2024.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that this is a proud moment for the college's NCC unit. He added that the college's NCC unit, led by ANO Lt. Karanbir Singh, has been taking part in Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations for the past three years. The college's NCC unit is associated with the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion.
Principal expressed gratitude to Colonel Vinod Joshi, the NCC Battalion's commanding officer, for his assistance in providing the cadets quality guidance. There was a tough competition among NCC cadets for the selection of this prestigious camp. Preliminary tests had been conducted by the 2 PB Battalion and the final selection of cadets had been completed at NCC academy Ropar by the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh directorate. It is to be noted that the Republic Day Camp holds the fundamental aim of instilling a sense of patriotism, discipline, and leadership qualities among the cadets. This annual event serves as a platform to offer cadets valuable opportunities for training, engaging in cultural activities, and participating in social service initiatives, thereby nurturing unity and pride. A total of 2274 cadets from the all the 28 states and eight Union Territories are participating in annual RDC camp. The camp had been commenced at the Cariappa parade ground in the Delhi Cantonment. In addition to the Indian cadets, cadets from the 25 friendly nations are also participating in this historic parade.
