Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS Units celebrates World Environment Day
NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College & Red Ribbon Club Organized One Day Tree Plantation Camp at the campus to celebrate World Environment Day.
Jalandhar, June 5, 2024: NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College & Red Ribbon Club Organized One Day Tree Plantation Camp at the campus to celebrate World Environment Day.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh inaugurated the camp by planting a sapling. In his message, he appealed that everyone should plant at least one tree. Referring to the heat waves and rising temperatures, he advised that green environment is the best option to keep the temperature in balance. He told them that it is important to take care of the saplings initially then they take care of us by providing fresh air. He appreciated efforts of NSS volunteers and encouraged them to plant trees in their own surroundings too.
NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that total 35 plants of Neem, Drek, Arjun, Bahera etc. are planted in first phase. NSS unit has planned to plant 150 trees before monsoon.
On this occasion, volunteers pledged to protect and water the planted saplings.
