Jalandhar, February 20, 2025: Lyallpur Khalsa College has a rich legacy in academics, sports and curricular activities and takes active role in passing its heritage in a spectacular way. Keeping this in view, a gathering of former and current crop of promising students was organized. 

Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council presided over the proceedings. 

Baldev Singh Bath, owner of Basant Motors in Canada, Chief Guest of the event, while MLA Pargat Singh, politicians Paramjit Singh Raipur, Jagroop Singh Dhesi, prominent businessman of Gravesend city of U.K. S. Jaspal Singh Dhesi and his son who is MP of U.K. Slough, Tanmanjit Singh, former Prof. Harbans Singh Bolina of the Punjabi department of the college, Kulwinder Singh Bath from USA, Janrail Singh Bath from UK, Surjit Singh Bath from Canada, Sardarini Resham Kaur Bath, Sardarni Jaswinder Kaur Bath, Narinder Kaur Bath and Gurjit Kaur Bath attended as special guests. They were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by the President of the Governing Council, Balbir Kaur, Vice-President Deepinder Singh Purewal, Joint Secretary Jaspal Singh Waraich and Principal Dr. Suman Chopra. 

Principal Dr. Suman Chopra, in her opening remarks, welcomed the distinguished alumni by appreciating their success in diverse fields and their concerns for the betterment of the college.  

Baldev Singh Bath, in his address, shared his utmost feelings with the gathering about his college days and how the milieu of college has helped him gaining the self belief and determination in establishment of his business in Canada. He was truly overwhelmed in his tribute to college and its professors for shaping his career and philanthropic spirit. 

On this occasion, the dignitaries present paid tribute to the contribution of former Head of Punjabi Department Prof. Niranjan Singh Dhesi to the department and the college and presented his book 'Marna Munsa Suria' to the College Governing Council. 

Later, a knowledge sharing session between former and present students of the college was held to discuss the issues related to new career opportunities, importance of college staff in shaping thought process of students, carrying the legacy of rich values and moral dilemma of migration. 

In addition to this, Baldev Singh Bath promised to provide financial aid to the promising and needy students. He handed over the cheque of Rupees One lakh to the college for student’s welfare. It was a memorable experience for present students who have had lot to learn and get inspired from such gems. 

During this event, Prof. Satpal Singh, Surinder Kumar Chalotra P.A. to Principal and students of different departments were present.
