Lyallpur Khalsa College organized one-day lecture on ‘Gurmat Ideology and Bani Guru Ravidas Ji’

Under this series, a one-day special lecture dedicated to the 647th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi on 'Gurmat Ideology and Bani Guru Ravidas Ji'.
Jalandhar, March 14, 2024: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, the premier academic institution of North India, always designs unique programs for the multi-faceted development of students. Under this series, a one-day special lecture dedicated to the 647th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi on 'Gurmat Ideology and Bani Guru Ravidas Ji'.
Dr. Surinder Midda, Principal, DAV College, Phillaur was the keynote speaker.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. Surinderpal Mand, head of the department and all the teachers welcomed him by giving bouquet. Principal sir, in his address, said that Punjab is the land of gurus, saints and great men. He emphasized to live life following the ideals of the Gurus. He added that while Guru Ravidas was a great saint of the Middle Ages, he was also a social reformer and an eminent philosophical thinker.
Dr. Midda, in his address, explained the concept of egalitarian society given by Guru Ravidas Ji and how he guided the society of his time in this direction. He said that Guru Ravidas ji presented the concept of such a society called 'Begampura' along with devotion to God, where there is no poverty, everyone gets food, there is no difference between the small and the big and there is a sense of equality. He further added that the teachings of Guru Ravidas have become more relevant in the present age.
At the end, Dr. Surinderpal Mand, Head of Department of Punjabi, thanked everyone. Prof. Kuldeep Sodhi played the role of moderator.
Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, Prof. Balraj Singh, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Prof. Preeti and Prof. Bhavna were also present on this occasion.
