Lyallpur Khalsa College organizes Inter-Staff Volleyball League, Fun and Fitness Events
A Volleyball League-2024, Fun and Fitness Events were organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by the Department of Physical Education and Sports in which staff of the college participated enthusiastically. Three teams LKC Spartans, LKC Warriors and LKC Fighters were formed in this league tournament and Fearless Fairies, Luna Lionesses, Golden Goddesses and Thunder Queens were formed for fun and fitness events which included members of both teaching and non teaching faculty.
Jalandhar, February 29, 2024: A Volleyball League-2024, Fun and Fitness Events were organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by the Department of Physical Education and Sports in which staff of the college participated enthusiastically. Three teams LKC Spartans, LKC Warriors and LKC Fighters were formed in this league tournament and Fearless Fairies, Luna Lionesses, Golden Goddesses and Thunder Queens were formed for fun and fitness events which included members of both teaching and non teaching faculty.
At the beginning of the tournament, Dr. S.S. Bains Dean Sports introduced the players to Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh who advised the players to play with full sportsmanship. Captain of LKC Spartans was Prof. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Dinkar Sharma was the captain of LKC Warriors while Captain of LKC Fighters was Dr. Palwinder Singh.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh himself played league matches with skill and efficiency. In Fun and Fitness Event, first position was bagged by Golden Goddesses under Captain Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, second by Fearless fairies under Captain Prof. Jasreen Kaur and third by Thunder Queens under Captain Prof. Suman Chopra. Team Luna Lionesses played under the Captain Prof. Navdeep Kaur. Musical chair competition was won by Gurmeet Kaur from non teaching while Dr. Geetanjali Kaushal and Dr. Manmeet Sodhi got second and third positions respectively. In Volleyball League, two matches were conducted between three teams. LKC Fighters stood first, LKC Spartans bagged second and LKC Warriors took third position.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated all the participants. He said that with this volleyball match and fun and Fitness Events a new healthy tradition has been started.
On this occasion, Dr. S.S. Bains also presented the report of the Department of Physical Education and Sports for the year 2023-24. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand and Dr. Surinderpal Mand played the role of commentators during the match. The staff members Jagdish Singh, Amrit Lal Saini, Tirth Ram and Mukesh of the Department of Physical Education and Sports also contributed in the organization of the event. Apart from the heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members and a large number of students were also present on this occasion.
