Lyallpur Khalsa College Students performed at Harivallabh Music Festival
Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar excel in academics as well as other co-curricular activities. Recently, the students of the department of Music of the college gave musical performances at the famous Sri Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan.
Jalandhar, January 3, 2024: Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar excel in academics as well as other co-curricular activities. Recently, the students of the department of Music of the college gave musical performances at the famous Sri Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan.
The student artistes and teachers performed Shabad Rachana, Sarvaswati Vandanas and Harivallabh Vandanas on the very first day of the Sangeet Summit and made the audience sway to the music.
College Governing Council President Balbir Kaur congratulated the student artists for this performance and wished them the best to continue their journey.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that the world famous Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan is a 148-year-old popular music convention of North India which is held every year in the last week of December in the memory of the famous musician of this region Harivallabh that lasts for three days. He said that it is a matter of great pride for us that our students received the blessings of Baba Harivallabh by giving their musical performance on this big stage. He said that the preparation of these presentations was done by Prof. Sukhdev Singh, head of the department of music and was accompanied by Prof. Gunveer Singh and Prof. Aakash Sharma on tabla and student Som Bahadur on guitar. He encouraged the students of the department to participate more and more in this kind of convention.
