Lyallpur Khalsa College wins the University Sports Trophy
Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has won the first runners up trophy in the Overall General Sports Championship of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar.
Jalandhar, September 21, 2022: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has won the first runners up trophy in the Overall General Sports Championship of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. The College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra along with College Dean Sports Dr. S.S. Bains and departmental faculty received the trophy from the Chief Guest Anurag Thakur, Union Cabinet Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, and Dr Jaspal Singh Sandhu Vice Chancellor of the University, in the 52nd Annual Sports Prize Distribution Function of the University. The College Governing Council President Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the College Dean Sports Dr. SS Bains, departmental faculty and staff and students on this achievement.
Speaking to the press, the College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra informed that the College had bagged the trophy with a total of 12300 points. He attributed this achievement of the college to its players and coaches. He also informed that the College had participated in all 35 inter-college championships organized by the University in 2021-22 and won first position in 10 games, second position in 17 games and third position in 7 games. The college had won championships in Hockey, Basketball, Tennis, Canoeing, Kayaking, Shooting (Air Rifle and Air Pistol), Road Cycling, Weight Lifting and Penchak Silat.
