Lyallpur Khalsa College’s record victory at National Youth Parliament Festival

Recently, NSS Volunteer Sakshi Sharma, a student of MA English, created history by winning 1st position at state level youth parliament speech contest.

Recently, NSS Volunteer Sakshi Sharma, a student of MA English, created history by winning 1st position at state level youth parliament speech contest.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh felicitated the winner and said it requires years of practice and hard work to become a consistent performer at speech contests. He said that consistent performances & victories at district, state and national level speaking contests by the students has made LKC as 'the hub of public speakers.' He added that the college supports these performers at every front and wished that she repeats success at National level.
Prof. Satpal Singh informed that NYPF is organized from 2019 by the Ministry of Youth affairs, Govt. of India and it will be the third consecutive representation at NYP by our college students. He informed that it is one of the toughest speech contests in India where approx.2 lakh students from more than 750 districts of India participate in screening. Earlier, Samriti Manhas in 2022, Balpreet Kaur in 2023 have represented Punjab at NYPF. This time Sakshi and Bapreet won first positions at district level from Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, Then, Sakshi won state by competing with 48 top contestants of Punjab and Chandigarh.
Further, winners of state are invited at Sansad Bhawan, New Delhi where only 29 State/UT winners compete at National Level. A week ago, Sakshi Sharma also won the State Level declamation contest at Ludhiana where she won Rs.1 lakh. It was organized by NYKS, Punjab as well as represented by the Punjab contingent at the National Youth Festival at Nashik Maharashtra. The students thanked the President college governing council and Principal for providing such platforms.
