Major breakthrough for Nurpur Police: Multiple arrests in mobile tower theft cases

The Nurpur Police District has achieved a significant breakthrough by swiftly apprehending criminals involved in a series of mobile tower thefts. The timely and professional actions of the district police have led to the arrest of multiple suspects, bringing a sense of relief to the local community.

Major breakthrough for Nurpur Police: Multiple arrests in mobile tower theft cases

Dharamshala, September 29, 2024: The Nurpur Police District has achieved a significant breakthrough by swiftly apprehending criminals involved in a series of mobile tower thefts. The timely and professional actions of the district police have led to the arrest of multiple suspects, bringing a sense of relief to the local community.

In a recent press briefing, District Superintendent of Police Ashok Ratan provided details on the successful operations. The first incident occurred on 16th September 2024, when Remote Radio Units (RRUs) were stolen from a mobile tower in Sandwa. An FIR (No. 204/24) was registered under Section 303(2) BNS at Police Station Nurpur. Following a detailed investigation, including analysis of call records and other evidence, three suspects were identified and arrested: Shiv Kumar, Pritam, and Sahil. The stolen equipment was recovered from them.

In another case, on 24th September 2024, RRUs were stolen from a mobile tower in Fattu Ka Baag (Gangath). The police registered FIR No. 216/24 under Section 303(2) BNS. With the help of technical evidence, call details, and informant information, the police arrested Sahil. During interrogation, Sahil confessed to the crime, and the stolen goods were recovered. He also admitted involvement in other cases.

Furthermore, on 27th September 2024, 17 batteries were stolen from a mobile tower in Prithvipur (Gangath). An FIR (No. 217/24) was lodged under Sections 305 and 331(4) BNS. The police moved quickly, arresting Jitendra, from Garauli (Chhatra), and recovering the stolen batteries.

The police are continuing legal proceedings against all the accused. 
Superintendent Ratan has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their areas. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in preventing crimes and ensuring the swift apprehension of offenders.
 
These arrests mark a major success for the Nurpur Police in their ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the district.
