Major General J.S. Cheema, Additional Director General NCC inspects Jalandhar Group Headquarters
Major General J.S. Cheema, Additional Director General, NCC Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh inspected Jalandhar NCC Group Headquarters and Lovely Professional University. Brigadier Ajay Tewari, Sena Medal, Group Commander, Jalandhar welcomed him at Lovely Professional University. The cadets presented a guard of honour to General Cheema.

Jalandhar, March 25, 2025: Major General J.S. Cheema, Additional Director General, NCC Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh inspected Jalandhar NCC Group Headquarters and Lovely Professional University. Brigadier Ajay Tewari, Sena Medal, Group Commander, Jalandhar welcomed him at Lovely Professional University. The cadets presented a guard of honour to General Cheema.
Addressing 500 NCC cadets in his speech, the ADG elaborated on the career opportunities in army with NCC qualifications. He gave information about various NCC camps being organized at the national and international levels. He said that there are 1.5 lakh NCC cadets under the Directorate. Many cadets are serving as officers and as soldiers in the Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces. General Cheema honored the best ANOs, military instructors and civil staff of the NCC Group with awards and commendations. The ADG also interacted with the cadets during the refreshments. Dean of Student Welfare Wing, Dr. Saurabh Lakhanpal honored the ADG and Group Commander with saropa and memento on behalf of the university.
General J.S. Cheema also visited the Group Headquarters Jalandhar. He met all the Commanding Officers and Administrative Officers. General Cheema was presented a guard of honour by the cadets of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. Brigadier Ajay Tewari, Sena Medal presented a detailed information about recruitment, dress allowance, various camps, training of cadets and logistics etc. General Cheema gave some suggestions regarding training of cadets and safety of girl cadets. After that, he spoke to all the staff of the group. General Cheema expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the high standards of the Jalandhar Group and excellent training of twenty thousand cadets.
General Cheema expressed happiness over the selection of 12 cadets of the group for Republic Day Camp and two cadets for international camps under Youth Exchange Program.
