Major jolt to Akali MLA Ayali as his close aide Rubi Ballowal joins Congress
Amandeep Singh Rubi said that Akali Dal is not the same party which it was earlier
Mullanpur Dakha (Ludhiana): In a major jolt to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, one of his close associate Rubi Ballowal on Thursday joined the Congress party.
Rubi was included in the party in the presence of Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Sunil Jakhar, CM's Political Advisor Capt Sandeep Sandhu, District Congress Committee Ludhiana (Rural) president Karanjit Singh “Soni” Galib, Ishwarjot Singh Cheema and others at Chandigarh.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rubi had remained president of Youth Akali Dal, three-time Block Samiti member, vice-chairman of Block Samiti Pakhowal and sarpanch of Ballowal village and had played a vital role in the victory of MLA Ayali.
Welcoming Rubi in the party's fold, Capt Sandeep Sandhu said that his entry would strengthen the Congress party and added many more bigwigs are ready to join the party shortly.
He said that Akali Dal has already lost its ground and AAP has no base here in Punjab. On the occasion, Navinder Singh Nevi Johal, Bani Dhillon, Davinder Mann, Aerik Chappar and others.
Following his joining, Amandeep Singh Rubi said that Akali Dal is not the same party which it was earlier and now its leaders have forgotten principles besides adopted double standard on contentious farm laws.
He said that he was feeling suffocated in the party and decided to move on to serving the people of the area in Congress.
