Major success in anti-drug campaign by District Police Nurpur
In a significant breakthrough against the drug mafia, the District Police of Nurpur(Kangra) , under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (SP), Ashok Ratan, took major action as part of their ongoing anti-drug campaign. On Sunday, a raid in the Channi area of Police Station Damtal resulted in the recovery and destruction of 10,000 liters of raw Lahan.
Dharamshala, May 19, 2024: In a significant breakthrough against the drug mafia, the District Police of Nurpur(Kangra) , under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (SP), Ashok Ratan, took major action as part of their ongoing anti-drug campaign. On Sunday, a raid in the Channi area of Police Station Damtal resulted in the recovery and destruction of 10,000 liters of raw Lahan.
SP said that during the code of conduct period for the Lok Sabha elections, from March 16, 2024, to May 19, 2024, District Police Nurpur successfully registered 74 cases under the HP Excise Act across various police stations. These efforts led to the seizure of substantial quantities of illicit substances, including 7,07,050 ml of illicit liquor, 9,17,250 ml of country liquor, 11,50,650 ml of English liquor, 2,27,500 ml of beer and 3280 liters of spirit. In addition, cash amounting to Rs 9,09,450 was recovered. The campaign also saw the destruction of a total of 99,730 liters of raw lahan today.
These actions mark a significant achievement in the district's ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities and maintain law and order during the election period.
