Jalandhar, October 17, 2018: Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized international level “Punjab Health & Wellness Expo 2018” at LPU campus, which concluded amid promises of further research works and global propagation for Ayurvedic products. Event provided the most innovative platform for exhibiting, promoting and representing alternative medicines, drugless therapeutics and ancient sciences of healing. Three-day organization brought forward the spirit of "AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), Organic Agriculture, and Pharmacy Science in wellness of masses world over. Expo witnessed a footfall of 50,000+ visitors; 150+ exhibitors; and, 50+ health & wellness activities, including workshops, seminars, free health check-ups, nukkad-natak, yoga sessions, short films, guest lectures, contests and knowledge sharing valuable interactions with world’s renowned professionals.

Some of the important exhibitors were from Ministry of Ayush (Government of India) including National Medicinal Plants Board; and 4 Central Councils for Research in Unani Medicines, Homeopathy, Ayurvedic Medicines, and Yoga & Naturopathy. Others included the Old Soul, Premium International Germany, Pentavox, AIMIL, Pukhraj, Roots, Wild Ferns New Zealand, Taaseer Afghanistan, APSECR, Aplomb, Fit Line and many more. As the event was open for the public, ‘Expo’ created enormous awareness in masses and proved as a single point interface with the end consumers & retailers. It held direct interaction with industry manufactures & consumers, and was also a great learning experience of growth for LPU pharmacy students.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal invoked all at the ‘Expo’: “Enhance natural sciences as much as possible. The US people do more Yoga than we in India. We know the strength of our ancient products, so we must come together in utilization from properties of such wonder creating ayurvedic products. This great congregation will only prove successful, when we all adopt whatever we learn from here.” On this occasion, Mr Mittal also announced to have a separate 25 acre’ piece of land for pharmacy students to see cultivate only medicinal plants on it.

LPU organized this mammoth ‘Expo’ in collaboration with internationally acclaimed ‘Guardians of Nature’ award winning non-profit organization ‘Namo Gange Trust’ (Haridwar). Wishing all to live hale and hearty life, Founder of the Trust Acharya Shri Jagdishji Mahraj holds: “Yoga and Ayurveda in modern time offers an inclusive system of well being for body, mind and awareness. I am delighted to see the best arrangements made at LPU in holding the massive event.” Senior Dean at LPU Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences Mrs Monica Gulati congratulated all at the helm of successful conduction affairs of the expo.

Event witnessed enthusiastic visitors, health seekers, high profile companies, institutes, and organizations. One of the internationally reputed wrestlers, senior officer with CRPF, and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ film fame bollywood actor, Rakesh Patel who specially came from Gujarat along with his family members to the ‘expo’ expressed: “Ayurvedic medicines have kept me always fit and fine. I never miss a chance to visit such organizations in want of something always novel. I want to specially appreciate LPU for holding wonderful event in this regard.” Former Registrar at Ayurvedic College Hoshiarpur Dr Ashwani Bhargav and Prof Madhurima also appreciated the event as beneficial to students.
