Mandi Board removes encroachments from 17 vacant plots in New Sabzi Mandi

Ludhiana, August 8, 2022: The Punjab Mandi Board in a joint operation with district administration and Commissionerate police removed encroachments from 17 vacant plots in new Sabzi Mandi on Bahudarke Road, here today.
The drive against encroachments was led by District Mandi Officer (DMO) Bir Inder Singh Sidhu along with Secretary Jasmeet Singh, GM Harminder Singh and officials from Civil and Police administration.
Disclosing further details, Deputy DMO Birinder Singh Sidhu said that these encroachments were successfully removed from 17 plots in the Mandi and now these plots would be sold by Punjab Mandi Board. He said that earlier two notices were also issued to the encroachers and public announcements were also carried out in the mandi to appeal the encroachers for removing the unlawful possession.
Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik said that no person would be allowed to encroach upon government land in the Mandi and warned of strict action if anyone tries to do so.
