Manish Tewari reviews progress of development schemes being run in Rupnagar district
MP reviews development schemes from all program officers of the district in the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee
Rupnagar:: Mr. Manish Tewari MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib today called a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee at District Administrative Complex Rupnagar during which he met all the program officers of the district and reviewed the development being carried out in the district by the state government and Union government. Manish Tewari lauded the district administration for coming first in the state in terms of the number of criteria set for carrying out development works.
Prominent amongst others who addressed the meeting included Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sonali Giri, Sh. SP Akhil Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Dinesh Vashisht besides senior officers of all the departments were present. During the meeting Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sonali Giri apprised Mr. Manish Tewari about the current status of various development schemes being implemented in the district. He said that it was a matter of pride for District Rupnagar that on December 12, the Health and Wellness Center (HWC) Bhalri of District Rupnagar was selected by the Central Government for the best HWC award. Expressing satisfaction, he said that the health department has done more than its responsibilities during the Corona epidemic and has made the state proud. He reviewed in detail the work done by the Health Department under the Janni Suraksha Yojna, Janni Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakram, Rashtriya Leprosy Program, Rashtriya TV Program. Apart from this he also got information about the education being imparted to the children through the online system during the Corona epidemic by the education department and they also provided information about the funds used under the scholarship scheme for children. Apart from this the major schemes reviewed are Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Power Department, Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme for providing clean drinking water to the rural population, National Food Security Act, Agriculture Department for the welfare of farmers. The development work being carried under the Horticulture Department was also reviewed in detail. Mr. Manish Tewari also received information from the District Officers about the grants given under the MP Land Fund and the benefits received by the needy.
