Manjot Kaur, a Ph.D Research Scholar of PAU awarded ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship

Ludhiana, February 13, 2018: Manjot Kaur, a Ph.D Research Scholar, Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) Doctoral Fellowship for Ph.D research entitled “Impact of vocational training courses of Krishi Vigyan Kendras on women in Punjab.” Her major advisor, Dr Kanwaljit Kaur, Professor, Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, said the PAU student is working to assess the impact of long duration vocational training courses organized by different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) of PAU. Under the study, 140 trainees were interviewed, she informed. Further, she said this research is an effort to analyse the impact of trainings on establishing an enterprise and income generation at household level. She will also develop a module for the KVK trainers on the basis of observations of her study, she added.
