Mann Government has decided to spend Rs 5.46 crore for remediation of solid waste/garbage at dump sites of Municipal Council Khanna and Malout: Dr.Inderbir Singh Nijjar

Chandigarh, February 9, 2023: Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that Punjab Government has decided to spend approximately Rs 5.46 crore for remediation of solid waste/garbage at the dump sites of Municipal Council Khanna and Malout.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant is making continuous efforts to provide basic facilities, clean and pollution free environment to the people of the state, Due to which development works are being conducted across the State by Punjab Government.

Giving further information in this regard, Local Government Minister, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that approximately Rs 3.15 crore will be spent for remediation of solid waste at the dump sites of Municipal Council Khanna. Similarly, approximately Rs.59 lakh will be spent to provide and operate Sewer suction Cum Jetting Machine of 8000 liter tank capacity mounted on 16 TGVW BS-VI truck cabin chassis.

Apart from this, he said that approximately Rs 1.72 crore will also be spent for the Bio-remediation of garbage at the Dump Sites of Municipal Council Malout.

He said that the e-tender has been uploaded on the Punjab government website www.eproc.punjab.gov.in for these works by the local government department. He said that if there is a need to make any kind of amendment in the tenders, then all its information will be provided on this website.

Cabinet Minister further said that the dream of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is to provide a clean and pollution-free environment to the people of the state so that the people of the state can be protected from the terrible diseases spread by dirt and pollution.

He has directed the officials to ensure transparency and quality in the work of the Department.
