Martyred Sepoy Gurbinder Singh cremated with military honours in Sangrur
Village school, stadium to be named after martyr Gurbinder Singh: Cabinet minister Vijay Inder Singla
Chandigarh/Sangrur: Cremation of Sepoy Gurbinder Singh was performed, on Friday, with full military honours at his native village Tolawal 30-km from Sangrur. Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla along with hundreds of people from all walks of life paid tribute to the martyr by showering flowers over his body and chanting slogans like ‘Shaheed Gurbinder Singh, Amar rahe.’
Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ramvir laid wreath on the behalf of Punjab Governor Mr. VP Singh Badnore while military and other civil administrative officials also paid tributes to the martyr.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla informed that Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has decided to rename the government schools of in the name of Punjab’s four martyrs who attained martyrdom during fight with Chinese army in Galwan Valley. He added that notification regarding renaming the schools will be issued soon.
The cabinet minister said that soon the Tolawal village stadium will also be revamped and will also be named after the martyr Gurbinder Singh.
Meanwhile, SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, senior leader Daman Thind Bajwa, Harmandev Bajwa, Chairman district planning board Rajinder Singh Raja, MLA Parminder Singh Dhindsa, MLA Aman Arora, Ex MP Avinash Rai Khanna, SDM Manjit Kaur and several other leaders and officials were also present to pay their tributes.
