Massive efforts are on to promote sports for making Punjab drug free state- Bindra
Presides over sports' meets in two schools
Ludhiana, August 24, 2021: Punjab Youth Development Board (PYDB) Chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that Captain government was making all out efforts to promote sports in the state as these could play an important role in wiping out the curse of drugs.
Addressing the gathering while presiding over sports meets held in the two schools, Bindra said that Punjab government was already making massive efforts to promote sports across the state by distributing free sports kits, organizing tournaments, ensuring nutritious diets to players, appointment of coaches and building infrastructure.
Bindra said that the games were significant as besides developing sportsmanship amongst the youth, these also help in channelising their unbounded energy in a positive direction.
He said that these sports events were the need of the hour to transform the destiny of youth.
The Chairman asserted that more and more events should be organised to ensure that the scourge of drugs was completely wiped out from the state.
He also exhorted the youth to come forward and support the state government for making Punjab a front ranking state in the country.
Showering praise on the schools for organising these events, he added that Punjab would soon emerge as a healthy and front runner state in the country.
Appealing the people to encourage their children for sports, Bindra said that it would help in making Punjab a frontrunner state in sports.
