Massive search operation launched in SBS Nagar’s Mand Area adjoining to Satluj River
Operation to remain continue for the next five days to complete the entire belt
Nawanshahar, January 17, 2022: To keep a close tab on bad elements and illicit liquor in wake of ensuing Assembly Elections, SBS Nagar Police launched a massive search operation in the Mand Belt of the district.
Divulging the details, SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said that to rout out the use of drugs, money and liquor in the elections to allure the voters, district police with the help of district administration, have beefed up the security at inter-district nakas with the help of Central Para Military Force personnel. Apart from that night patrolling and day flag marches have also been started to give a strong message to the anti social elements.
She said that today a massive search operation was launched in the Mand belt adjoining the Sultuj river in tbe district with the help of CAPF. A drone survey was conducted during this operation to check the forest pockets alongside Dhussi Bandh, starting from the jurisdiction of PS Balachaur Sadar, Rahon upto Aur. Though, there is no recovery today but we will continue this drone survey and search operation for the next five days too, said Kanwardeep Kaur.
She said the officials from the Excise Department were also roped in this search operation.
SSP said to instill a sense of free and fair polling among the voters, especially in the vulnerable, sensitive and critical booth areas, the district police personnel have been patrolling regularly. Similarly, 32 inter-district and 25 city sealing nakas have also been laid to check the illegal activities and suspicious persons.
She said that it's our prime duty to ensure law and order by maintaining a peaceful and friendly environment for the common people to cast their vote on the day of polling and to curb the illegal activities to overpower the legal procedures of election and we will not allow any anti social activity during the entire process.
