Bathinda, September 28, 2022: To create awareness on ‘healthy heart’ on World Heart Day, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda is organising a walkathon from Max to Civil Hospital on Thursday. During the occasion zumba with aerobics sessions will also be held where over 200 senior citizens and members of Bathinda cycling & Runners Group will participate.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Dr Rohit Mody director cardiology at Max Hospital Bathinda said that heart ailments are no longer diseases of the elderly. Due to rise in sedentary lifestyle and factors such as obesity, stress and consumption of junk food, cardiac issues in young are becoming more rampant, he maintained.
The people of Malwa region are no longer to go to the other cities for cardiac issues as all advanced treatment modalities are available at Max Hospital, Bathinda, he said.
At Max’s advanced cath lab, we are performing cardiac procedures like angiography, angioplasties, pace makers implantation and TAVI procedures. We also have a cardiac critical care unit for sick cardiac patients and a facility of ECMO for severely lung compromised patients, Dr Modi informed.
