Mayank Foundation hand over e-rickshaw to blind home under project ‘Sahyog’
Under the project ‘Sahyog’, Mayank Foundation – a local leading NGO today handed over an e-rickshaw to the management of Home for Blind, to support the livelihood of inmates.
Ferozepur, April 25, 2022: Under the project ‘Sahyog’, Mayank Foundation – a local leading NGO today handed over an e-rickshaw to the management of Home for Blind, to support the livelihood of inmates. The inmates were also served with refreshment packs and cloth for shirt.
Present among others on this occasion were – Anirudh Gupta, CEO DCM Group of Schools, Ashwani Sharma, Secretary, Harish Kumar Asstt Secretary, Ramesh Sethi Manager, Ashok Gupta Treasurer from Blind Home, Deepak Sharma founder of Mayank Foundation, Dr.Gazal Preet Arneja, Rakesh Kumar Secretary, Manoj Gupta, Satish Machhral, Ajay Kumar, Adv Rohit Garg, Harnam Singh. Dr.Sourabh Dhall, Rohit Kakkar, Sanjeev Mehta, and Assem Aggarwal and local prominent persons.
There are 42 inmates at Home for Blind, out of which 35 are school and college-going. During the last three years, around 30 persons have got the government job in various departments under the reserve quota. Home for Blind is providing free lodging and boarding since 1954.
Vipul Narang, Project Coordinator, during a visit to Home for Blind had felt the need for an e-rickshaw for the day-to-day movement of the inmates due to over-crowded traffic on the roads.
Anirudh Gupta appreciating the initiative to hand over the e-rickshaw to Home for Blind said I feel pleased with the youngsters coming forward to help the needy class. Giving a word of advice, he said, the local NGOs in their future projects must keep in mind the services on a need basis which could be more useful to them.
Ashwani Sharma thanked one and all present for taking care of the visually impaired inmates of Home for Blind and today’s gift of e-rickshaw would help in their mobility locally for going to the college, hospital, railway station, etc.
