Mayank Foundation hosts 3-day nature camp at Hussaini Wala Wetland
The Mayank Foundation successfully concluded a 3-day Nature Camp (15-17 November) at the scenic Hussaini Wala Wetland, bringing together over 50 students from government and private schools, colleges, and SBS State University. Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, the camp focused on environmental education, wildlife conservation, and personal development.
Ferozepur, November 19, 2024: The Mayank Foundation successfully concluded a 3-day Nature Camp (15-17 November) at the scenic Hussaini Wala Wetland, bringing together over 50 students from government and private schools, colleges, and SBS State University. Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, the camp focused on environmental education, wildlife conservation, and personal development.
The event featured sessions by experts like Dr. Vandana Naithani on biodiversity conservation and Dr. Rameshwar Singh on the historical significance of the Sutlej River. Students participated in bird watching and wildlife photography workshops led by ornithologist Manish Ahuja, learning to appreciate the wetland's rich avian life. Practical activities included vermicomposting, organic farming, and eco-friendly floral waste recycling, equipping participants with sustainable skills for daily life.
Campers also witnessed the iconic BSF Retreat Ceremony at Hussaini Wala and paid homage to martyrs at the National Martyrs Memorial. Interactive sessions on stubble burning, youth leadership, and personality development emphasized the importance of community responsibility and environmental stewardship.
The camp concluded with a valedictory session by Dr. Anirudh Gupta, President of Mayank Foundation, who urged students to champion conservation efforts in their communities.
