Mayor Balkar Sandhu holds review meeting of Buddha Nullah Rejuvenation Project
He informed that the work for chainlink-fencing around the Buddha Nullah has been allocated to the entrusted firm
Ludhiana: Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Sabharwal on Tuesday, held a review meeting regarding the project of rejuvenation of Budha Nullah, passing through the city. Councillors, Members of Namdhari community and various Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) were also present in the meeting, which was held at Municipal Corporation Zone-D Office.
As per the information, a 14 kilometre long stretch of Budha Nullah will be cleaned and beautified under this project.
While addressing the meeting, Mayor Sandhu issued guidelines for setting up of micro forest adjoining the Budha Nullah besides planting saplings on the banks of the Nullah to prevent the pollution.
He also directed health officials to keep vigil that no-one shall dump any kind of waste, whether it was generated from the fish market or vegetable market in the Nullah.
