MC Councillor Mamta Ashu pull up NHAI officials over water accumulation on Ferozepur Road
Directs them to make permanent arrangements so that people do not suffer
Ludhiana: On behalf of Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, his wife and MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu today visited the site of elevated road project near Aggar Nagar on Ferozepur Road, here. She also interacted with the officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and directed them to ensure that there is no water accumulation on the road.
Mrs Mamta Ashu was also accompanied by MC Councillors Mr Pankaj Kaka, Mrs Seema Kapoor, senior Congress leader Mr Sunil Kapoor, SDM Ludhiana (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, besides several others.
Mrs Mamta Ashu informed that there were several complaints of water accumulation near Aggar Nagar area on Ferozepur Road, here, that was not only causing inconvenience to the public, but can also lead to road accidents, besides damaging the roads leading to loss of public exchequer. She pulled up the NHAI officials for their failure to put a proper mechanism in place to redress this problem.
She informed that if this issue is not checked now, it might lead to bigger problems in the future and stated that redressing all problems of the residents is their foremost priority. She said that this project is being monitored by Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu and his team on regular basis.
Later she also visited the under construction Leisure Valley near DAV Public School in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar and issued necessary directions to the staff. She also visited the underpass along the Sidhwan Canal near Ferozepur Road, here. She also directed the PWD (B&R) officials to get the gutters cleaned properly so that there is no water accumulation there. She told the senior PWD (B&R) officials that she would again visit this site shortly and warned of action if there is water accumulation during rainy season.
