MC polls- DC inspects strong rooms, checks arrangements
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Jitendra Jorwal visited the strong rooms for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on Sunday to ensure the polling process for the elections of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, various municipal councils, and one Nagar Panchayat is conducted fairly and transparently.

Ludhiana, December 15, 2024: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Jitendra Jorwal visited the strong rooms for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on Sunday to ensure the polling process for the elections of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, various municipal councils, and one Nagar Panchayat is conducted fairly and transparently.
Jorwal reaffirmed the district administration's commitment to conducting free and secure elections. He reviewed the arrangements at these locations and provided necessary directions to the officials. He stated that foolproof security measures have been implemented by the district administration during both polling and counting. The guidelines of the State Election Commission will be adhered to strictly. Additionally, he inquired about CCTVs, power supply, fire safety measures, and the maintenance and updating of official registers at these venues.
The DC emphasized that the district administration has established an elaborate system of security measures and procedural checks to ensure the complete security of the strong rooms.
The strong rooms are located at the following institutions: Government College for Girls,BharatNagar, Khalsa College for Women Ghumar Mandi, Khalsa School, SCD College, KVM School, EVM Warehouse at Polytechnic College, Rishi Nagar, Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar Ludhiana, Green Land Sen. Sec Public School Ludhiana (GT Road Jalandhar By-Pass), Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College (GNE Campus), Ludhiana. S. Kuldeep Singh Sekhon Auditorium GTB National College Dakha, SSD Govt Senior Secondary School, Machhiwara, Office of Market Committee, Dana Mandi Maloud, AS Modern Sr. Sec School MK Road, Khanna and BDPO Office, Samrala.
