MCL set up special counters for property tax collection in all four zones for benefit of residents
By paying complete tax, one would get waiver from interest and penalty along with 10% rebate: MC Commissioner
Ludhiana: While providing relief to the residents for paying property tax, the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has set up special counters in the Suvidha centres in all four of its zones from May 14, 2020 onwards. These counters would operate from 9 am to 1:30 pm daily.
While providing information, MC Commissioner Mrs Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar informed that due to ongoing Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, MC had stopped public dealing from March 23, 2020 onwards. She informed that the Punjab government has decided to waive off interest and penalty along with 10% rebate if any person pays his property tax completely before May 31, 2020.
She informed that for the benefit of city residents, special counters have been set up in all four zones of MC and appealed to the residents to clear their pending property tax and water and sewerage dues before May 31, 2020. She informed that for visiting the Suvidha Centres, the residents would have to strictly follow the COVID protocol issued by the Punjab government, such as social distancing, wearing face masks, washing of hands/sanitiser, etc.
