MDU: Ph.D registration of 139 candidates approved by the Academic Council.
The Academic Council (A.C.) of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in its 202nd meeting held today under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh approved the various scheme of Examination(s) and Syllabi of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes under NEP’2020 from the session 2024-25.
Rohtak, June 27, 2024: The Academic Council (A.C.) of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in its 202nd meeting held today under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh approved the various scheme of Examination(s) and Syllabi of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes under NEP’2020 from the session 2024-25.
MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh said that a historic decision was taken today in the Academic Council which would pave the way for introduction of Four Year Undergraduate programmes under NEP’2020 in University Teaching Depts. as well as University affiliated Colleges. He said that a basket of Multi-disciplinary courses, Skill Enhancement courses, Ability Enhancement courses, Minor courses as well as Minor Vocational courses have been created under various faculties and departments. The new structure of UG/PG programmes would facilitate holistic academic development of the students and increase their technical skills as well as their employability.
The Academic Council approved the new scheme of Examination of Ph.D course work which would be of 12 credits now.
In its meeting today, Academic Council approved the introduction of three new Postgraduate programmes- MA (Guidance & Counselling) in Dept. of Psychology, MA (Hindu Studies) in Dept. of Sanskrit, and MBA (Business Psychology) in IMSAR from the session 2024-25. The Academic Council also approved the Scheme of Examinations and Syllabi of several Certificate and Diploma programmes.
Ph.D registration cases of 139 candidates were given approval by the Academic Council today.
MDU Registrar Prof. Gulshan Lal Taneja presented the agenda of the meeting. Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Maan, Dean of Faculties, Head of Depts., members of A.C. attended the meeting today.
