MDU will set an example by planting one lakh saplings

Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (MDU) along with its affiliated colleges will actively join Prime Minister Narendra Modi's environmental campaign - Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. MDU will set an example in the state by planting one lakh saplings. This Mega Plantation campaign will start from August 9 under the leadership of Haryana Governor and MDU Chancellor Bandaru Dattatreya.

Rohtak, 5 August, 2024. Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (MDU) along with its affiliated colleges will actively join Prime Minister Narendra Modi's environmental campaign - Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. MDU will set an example in the state by planting one lakh saplings. This Mega Plantation campaign will start from August 9 under the leadership of Haryana Governor and MDU Chancellor Bandaru Dattatreya.

 

MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh today in an online meeting with the principals of colleges affiliated to MDU called upon them to join this mega campaign. VC Prof. Rajbir Singh said that plantation should be done under the leadership of the principal in every college campus affiliated to MDU and all the students of the college should be connected with this campaign. He asked the college principals to ensure their participation by planting 250 to 1000 saplings under this mega campaign. He said that 5000 saplings will be planted in the MDU campus under this mega campaign. He called upon the college principals to inspire the students to plant a tree in the name of mother in their village, city, homes, fields and nearby areas.

 

VC Prof. Rajbir Singh said that in this Mega Plantation campaign, affiliated colleges will get saplings from the forest office of their district and MDU will provide saplings wherever required. To make this plantation campaign a role model in the entire country including Haryana, the Vice Chancellor motivated the principals of affiliated colleges and their representatives to make it successful on a large scale. He said that this mega campaign will start from 9th August till 30th August. Dean, Academic Affairs and Dean, CDC Prof. A. S. Mann conducted the meeting and motivated the college principals to participate in the plantation campaign with great enthusiasm.

Principals and their representatives of about 200 affiliated colleges and other officials including Forest Officer/Range Officer participated online in this meeting.
