Dharamshala(Arvind Sharma) March 24, 2025: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kangra, Dr. Rajesh Guleria, emphasized the vital role of media in tuberculosis (TB) elimination during an awareness workshop at Zonal Hospital. He highlighted the importance of effective communication in achieving a TB-free Himachal and urged media to spread awareness and hold stakeholders accountable.
District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Rajesh Sood noted Himachal Pradesh's progress in TB control, with contributions from chemists, self-help groups, youth, and social media influencers. However, challenges like stigma and misinformation persist. CMO Dr. Guleria set an example by adopting 20 TB patients as a Nikshay Mitra.
The event was attended by medical experts, WHO representatives, and media personnel.
