Medical College Tanda will get full-fledged Dialysis facility soon: Vipin Singh Parmar

Dharamshala, June 14, 2019: Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that fully developed Dialysis facility will be made available at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda through Public-Private Partnerships through the National Health Mission. Since its inception, kidney patients will not have to go out the state for such treatment.

Vipin Parmar was speaking today on the occasion of the inauguration of the 7th Annual National Conference of Consortium against rabies in the Auditorium of Rajendra Prasad, Government Medical College Tanda near here. About 150 delegates from 11 states across the country are participating in this conference, which include specialist medical doctors, veterinary health experts and environmental health experts. The Health Minister said that the State Government is going to start the 'Total Health Scheme', under which 12 health institutions, some of which include district hospitals, will be converted into complete hospitals in the first phase and all necessary facilities will be provided in these hospitals.

The Health Minister said , “people with severe illnesses such as Parkinson, Cancer, Paralysis, Muscular, Dystrophy, Haemophilia, thalassaemia, Renal Failure etc, need constant care in addition to general health services. For such patients a new "Sahara Scheme is started" with the objective of providing financial assistance to them. Under the scheme, financially weaker patients will be provided financial assistance of Rs two thousand per month.”

Health Minister said that vacant posts in the health department are being filled up on priority basis. He said that classes of BSc Nursing will soon be started in Tanda, Dharamsala, Chamba, Hamirpur, Nahan, Mandi. He said that anti-rabies vaccines have been made available in all civil hospitals and health centres including Tanda medical College.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Bhanu Awasthi welcomed the health Minister and briefed about the various activities undertaken by the medical college.
