Medical facilities in Tanda Medical College in poor state: Kajal
He was speaking on the discussion on health related facilities in the Vidhan Sabha today
Dharamsala, December 13, 2021: Speaking on the discussion on health related facilities in the Vidhan Sabha today, Congress MLA from Kangra Pawan Kajal said that the second largest medical college of the state is Tanda in Kangra and its condition has worsened in 4 years of BJP government. The CT scan machine is in bad shape for 4 years in a big institute which has not been fixed till date. Ultrasound is not working here because it does not have technicians. He also said that there are no nephrologists here and MRI is also not possible. He also alleged that repeated dates are given for even minor operations here.
He said that the ultrasound machine is fine in Kangra’s civil hospital but due to lack of radiologist, it is under dust. In Tiara after the struggle, it was made CHC from PHC but no specialist doctor has been appointed there, the staff there is also less than 30% of the sanctioned posts.
The BJP government is ignoring Kangra district. An IT Park is approved in the district in which about 5000 people could be absorbed but not a single step has been taken by the present government in this direction so far.
Sujanpur MLA Rajendra Rana said that a civil hospital was built in Sujanpur in 2017, which is useful for many lakhs of patients of Kangra and Mandi district too, but there is no specialized doctor in this hospital and everyone who comes here are being referred to Tanda Medical College within a few minutes.
He also informed that about 2,75,000 patients are referred to PGI Chandigarh in a year from low-lying areas of Himachal.
