Earning a name in the Fashion industry is not an easy task. To achieve success in the fashion industry one has to work hard and make his way into a crowd of millions and earn a true name and fame. This is true with designer Sidharth K Kakkar who launched his eponymous menswear label in 2012 and decided to embark on his journey by taking the unconventional route. From the beginning designer, SKK had the proclivity, necessary skills, creativity and good sense of ongoing fashion trends which led him to take up this career in a big way.
Talking about his journey, he is a NIFT graduate, and a former assistant to Karan Johar and Varun Bahl and then with sheer dedication he launched his label in 2012 which deals from casual shirts to wedding sherwanis, the label caters to all the specifics. After opening his official store he launched his flagship store in Ludhiana, and there is no looking back ever since. Just a few years into the business and the label is rising its way into the fashion web.
Sidharth said, “I was never afraid of doing anything and fashion was on my nerves. I started from scratch and never knew my dedication will help me reach here, shunning all demographic confinements to make a name for myself. My label is not confined to locals; rather I am happy to see my label growing among Bollywood, international celebrities, politicians, and bureaucrats alike and I strongly believe the label will continue to rise and shine.”
Adding more to his achievements, the international name of Indian music, AR Rahman an Oscar-winning music maestro selected attire for himself from Sidharth K Kakkar for his album launch with Mick Jagger, "Super Heavy" in 2012. Bollywood actor Rajeev Khandelwal adorned the SKK brand for his movie Fever in 2017. The list goes on like the who’s who from all walks of life have stepped into Sidharth’s store for that chic look; Cricket legend Harbhajan Singh, Indian Michael Jackson, Prabhudeva, a global name in wrestling, The Great Khali and comedy King, Kapil Sharma are only a few names from the list.
At last, he added, “Fashion is a very funny thing, if you get it, it is fashion and if you don’t then it is not……”.
