Jalandhar, December 9, 2014: A meeting of Aided Colleges Principals was held at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar today under the presidentship of Dr B.B Sharma to boycott the university examination/evaluation schedule for December 15 and 19, 2014 respectively. The boycott will prevail in all the affiliated colleges of Punjab to the three universities (GNDU, Panjab University and Punjabi University). It has been done due to the delay in release of grants for the last 18 months (from June 2013) by Punjab Government. It has been very difficult for the colleges to survive without grants. Dr. Sarita Verma told that the majority of the colleges are not been able to pay the salary up-to-date. The careless attitude of the Punjab Government is proving to be very disastrous for the grant-in-aid colleges of the Punjab State, he said, adding all the members of Principals’ Association, member of Teaching/Non-Teaching staff will also be joining the struggle.
