Meeting held regarding preparations for winter session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly
In preparation for the upcoming Winter Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, scheduled to take place from December 19 to 23 in Tapovan, Dharamshala, Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Dr. Nipun Jindal, chaired a crucial meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by officials from various concerned departments, aiming to ensure seamless arrangements and organization for the winter session.
Dharamsala, November 29, 2023: In preparation for the upcoming Winter Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, scheduled to take place from December 19 to 23 in Tapovan, Dharamshala, Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Dr. Nipun Jindal, chaired a crucial meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by officials from various concerned departments, aiming to ensure seamless arrangements and organization for the winter session.
Key officials present at the meeting included Additional District Magistrate Rohit Rathore, Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Lakhanpal, Assistant Commissioner Subhash Gautam, SDM Dharamshala Dharmesh Ramotra, and heads of several departments. Dr. Nipun Jindal stressed the importance of timely and effective preparations by all departments to guarantee the successful conduct of the Assembly session.
Security measures during the Assembly session, as well as essential arrangements like accommodation for Assembly members and senior officials, traffic management, provision of drinking water and electricity, catering services, and health and sanitation facilities, were thoroughly discussed during the meeting.
Emphasizing the need for maintaining law and order and ensuring a smooth traffic system during the session, Dr. Nipun Jindal directed officials to make appropriate arrangements for the accommodation and meals of guests participating in the event. Detailed discussions also took place regarding parking facilities in and around the assembly complex.
In anticipation of the Assembly session, Dr. Jindal instructed the Health Department to make special arrangements at the Legislative Assembly complex, Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, and Tanda Medical College. He sought detailed updates on preparations from departments such as Public Works, Water Power, Electricity, Police, Tourism, Health, Information and Public Relations, Fire, and Transport. Dr. Nipun Jindal urged all concerned officers to ensure the timely completion of all preparations related to their respective departments for the smooth execution of the Winter Session.
The new Vidhan Sabha Bhawan constructed at a cost of Rs. 7 crore at Sidhbari (Tapovan) near Dharamsala was dedicated on 25th December2006 to the people of lower areas of the State by the then government led by Vir Bhadra Singh . Since then the winter session is being conducted every year here and the people of lower areas are directly being benefited .
