Meeting of College Development Council held
The meeting of College Development Council, comprising of fellows, principals of affiliated colleges and senior faculty members from University was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prof.Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University. The Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, initiated the meeting by reading out the agenda already sent to the members in advance.
Chandigarh, February 19, 2024: The meeting of College Development Council, comprising of fellows, principals of affiliated colleges and senior faculty members from University was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prof.Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University. The Dean College Development Council, Panjab University, Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, initiated the meeting by reading out the agenda already sent to the members in advance.
It was unanimously resolved to grant scholarship to 826 eligible students for the Session 2022-2023, and 480 students for the session 2023-2024. These scholarships belong to categories 1) Means-cum-Merit (2) Physically Disabled (3) Sports (4) Single Girl Child (5) AIDS/Cancer Patients (6) Youth Welfare, for the session 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 from the budget head 2023-2024.
In addition to above, Committee of CDC granted honorarium @ Rs.3000/- each to Nodal Officers of the colleges for the session 2023-2024 from the budget head of College Development Fund in the financial year 2023-2024.
The financial subsidy at Rs.30,000/- to 22 eligible affiliated Colleges for organizing the Seminar/Symposium/Workshop for the session 2023-2024 was also approved.
The Committee also resolved to enhance the financial subsidy to the colleges for organizing the Seminar/ Symposium/ Workshop from Rs.30,000/- to Rs.40,000/- and subsidy for presenting paper in Seminar/Symposium/Workshop/Conference within India from Rs.20,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- and Outside India from Rs. 70,000/- to Rs.80,000/- respectively from the next session 2024-2025.
