National competitions winning 22 universities’ teams of 5 Indian Zones graced AIU’s second International Youth Festival at LPU with their enthralling presentations

Jalandhar: The concluding day of annual international fest ‘One World-2023’ of Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Association of Indian Universities’ (AIU’s) 2nd International Youth Festival shared enthralling “Melodies, Mimes, Mehndi skills and more among thousands of performers and participating students.

During the Award Ceremony, LPU School of Computer Science & Engineering won the Overall Trophy of the annual ‘One World’ festival for representing the country ‘Nepal’. School of Architecture & Planning represented Bhutan and Mittal School of Business represented D R Congo; both have been declared as 1st Runner-up. Similarly, Directorate of Distance Education represented Tibet; School of Electronics & Electrical Engineering represente Rwanda; and, School of Journalism & Creative Arts represented Ivory Coast: all three of these are winners of 2nd Runner-up awards.

The gracious one-hour long musical dance performance of the day, for the much diversity amid great unity, was “Ye Mera Hindustan” and “One World” by well-attired 400+ LPU students in accordance with their respective state and country. Here, participating students presented an amalgam of every part of India & the globe for culture and customs. This made each and every onlooker patriotically and emotionally spell-bound to further accord standing ovation to the performers.

Here, information was readily available about countries including Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Liberia, Somalia, Lesotho Kingdom, Maldives, Afghanistan, Yemen, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mauritius and many more.

LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal shares: “The event ‘One World’ at LPU makes international and national students more practical with an elaborated insight into how the world can be one leaving aside conflicts & self-interests. This fest is designed to make students, with distinct cultural backgrounds, live peacefully, work together to be globally fit citizens and make happiness exist all around the world.”

As the theme celebrated this year was "global diversity"; thousands of international students from 50+ countries organized expo stalls for their respective countries. Students mutually shared salient features favouring not only their own countries but also came to know about other parts & people globe over.  

In addition, for representing East Zone & South Zone of India; the Schools of Mechanical Engineering & Computer Sciences & Engineering are announced winners, respectively.
