Meri Matti Mera Desh Campaign at Air Force Station, Halwara
To commemorate 75 years of Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is being celebrated as a people led initiative. The Government of India has launched ‘Meri Matti Mera Desh’ campaign as a continuation for celebration of AKAM.
Ludhiana, August 16, 2023: To commemorate 75 years of Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is being celebrated as a people led initiative. The Government of India has launched ‘Meri Matti Mera Desh’ campaign as a continuation for celebration of AKAM.
Various activities in line with the theme were conducted at Air Force Station, Halwara between 9 th to 15 th August 2023.
An Amrit Vatika is being developed by planting of saplings of indigenous species to replenish Mother Earth as ‘Vasudha Vandan’ at Aitiana Village on 15 th August 2023. The National Flag was unfurled by Air Commodore Sandeep Chaudhary VM VSM Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Halwara in the function held at Govt High School, Aitiana village. Panch Pran pledge was also taken in which the school children, staff and local residents including the village Sarpanch participated.
Freedom fighters of our nation were honoured as part of ‘Veeron Ka Vandan’ at Aitiana and Sudhar villages near AF Station Halwara on 15 August 2023, in which family members were felicitated. Retired personnel from the services participated in the programme.
A programme as part of the campaign was also held at Toose village on 14 th August 2023 with the effective co-ordination of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, Co-ordinator).
Whole hearted participation by personnel of the Station, their family members and residents of the locality made the events a grand success.
