MGCON2025 – Molecular Genetics Conference Held at DMC&H

Ludhiana, April 26, 2025: The Department of Molecular Genetics, DMC&H, successfully organized the Molecular Genetics Conference (MGCON2025) today at the Dumra Auditorium, DMC&H. Centered around this year's theme, "Advancement in Technology, Testing, and Therapeutic Approaches," the two-day event highlighted the latest developments in the dynamic field of molecular genetics. MGCON2025 was recognized by the Punjab Medical Council and awarded 7 credit points for the participants.

The event commenced with a pre-conference workshop on the occasion of National DNA Day on 25th April 2025, held at the Department of Molecular Genetics, DMC&H.

The conference was expertly conducted by Dr. Barjinderjit K. Dhillon, Senior Biotechnologist, and Dr. Renu Moti Pandita, Biotechnologist, from the Department of Molecular Genetics Lab. Coordination of the event was managed efficiently by Dr. Mohit Sharma, Associate Biotechnologist, along with Dr. Sumit Sharma, Biotechnologist, and Dr Suvir Singh, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Clinical Hemotology.

MGCON2025 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society. The event was graced by other dignitaries including Sh. Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society and Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H

Welcoming the gathering, Principal Dr. G.S. Wander emphasized the importance of advancing research in molecular genetics and integrating modern genetic tools in clinical practice. He applauded the efforts of the Department of Molecular Genetics for providing a platform like MGCON2025 to foster knowledge exchange and innovation in the medical genetics community.

In his inaugural address, Bipin Gupta underscored the significance of molecular genetics in the future of medicine. He stated, “This conference is a step forward in aligning ourselves with global scientific advancements. Encouraging young minds and researchers to engage in such scientific pursuits is essential to medical evolution.” He appreciated the organizing team’s dedication and reaffirmed the Managing Society’s continued support for academic and research initiatives at DMC&H.

MGCON2025 featured a comprehensive scientific program comprising multiple sessions led by renowned speakers from prestigious medical and research institutions. The sessions covered cutting-edge topics in molecular genetics, offering valuable insights into emerging technologies, clinical applications, and genetic research methodologies.

An Oral and Poster Presentation session, themed "Innovative Approaches in Diagnostics and Therapeutics," was also organized. Students showcased their research and creativity through impressive poster displays and oral presentations, with winners being duly recognized and awarded for their excellence.

The conference concluded on a high note with a valedictory address by Dr. Barjinderjit K. Dhillon, Organizing Chairperson of MGCON2025, who thanked all participants, speakers, and the organizing team for making the event a grand success. Dr. Dhillon reiterated the department’s commitment to promoting knowledge and research in the field of molecular genetics.

MGCON2025 marked another milestone in DMC&H’s legacy of academic and scientific excellence, inspiring young scientists and fostering collaboration for future advancements in the field.
