Ferozepur, May 26, 2014: “Rupees Four Crore Eighty Six Lakh have been spent on various development projects under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for the current Financial year of 2014-15”, Manjit Singh Narang, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur provided this information.
Giving details of the amount spent under MGNREGA, he said, 62.7 lakh were spent in Ferozepur block, 67.86 lakh were spent in Ghallkhurd Block, 26.88 lakh were spent in Guruharsahai block, 59.37 lakh were spent in Makhu block, 138.06 lakh spent in Mamdot block, 24.54 lakh were spent in Zira block for various development projects and works worth Rupees One Crore are under process.
He said, 65112 job card holders were benefited with the scheme and more than 1092 projects were completed in more than 400 villages.
 He said that the data of all the job card holders can also be seen online. He further instructed the Rural Development Officers to provide jobs to more people so that more people could attain benefit under MGNREGA scheme.
Arvinder Pal Singh Sandhu, ADC (D), said 116 Rajiv Gandhi Help Centre has been sanctioned in Ferozepur District out of which 37 are completed.
