MILESTONE: Zonal hospital Dharamsala to be first in HP to get ISO certification

Dharamsala, November 24, 2012: “The Zonal Hospital Dharamsala shall become the first hospital of Himachal to get ISO certification, “said Dr. Rakesh Sharma medical Superintendent of the hospital in Dharamsala on Saturday.

He said that the health department of the state has given straight guidelines in this regards to the hospital authorities. A high level team of officials shall visit Dharamshala Zonal Hospital on November 29 to see that the standards of the institute are made up to the ISO guidelines.

The official said,” The ISO certification shall be given for 3 years and it shall be reviewed by the team to extend the period thereafter.”

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has several schedules that hospitals follow in order to maintain their ISO certification. All ISO standards for hospitals are updated regularly and outline the pinnacle of hospital performance and safety standards for the benefit of patients, families and health care professionals alike.

He said that the authorities of the hospital have made working teams for implementing the required facilities for the indoor and outdoor patients of the hospital. The authorities are working hard to put their solid claim for this certification. Most of the activities are converted from manual to electronic and CCTV cameras are put to monitor the entire campus.
