Ludhiana, September 18, 2014: Ten workers sustained injuries in an industrial mishap occurred this morning in an industrial unit, on Macchiwara-Kohara road, here. Of them, condition of four is stated to be serious.
According to available information, the mishap occurred at around 10 am today when a blast occurred in a fiber plant of the industrial unit. As a result, wind glasses of the building were damaged and a fire broke out. The fire was extinguished after sometime. A smoke had engulfed the factory premises.
A total ten workers identified as Harinder, Suresh Chowdhary, Ajay Pal, Mohammad Noor Alam, Mahesh Jha, Parmshwar, Pankaj Kumar, Sanjay Dubey, Jatinder and Deen Dayal were injured.  There were a total 30 workers in the factory premises. All others were rescued safe.
The injured workers were rushed to local Christian Medical and College Hospital. Six workers were discharged after extending medical assistance. However, the remaining four workers namely Suresh Chowdhary, Ajay Pal, Mohammad Noor Alam and Mahesh Jha are still undergoing treatment at the hospital. Their condition is stated to be serious.
Fiber is manufactured with plastic in the industrial unit concerned. As per the available information, the mishap occurred due to erratic power supply.
The Macchiwara police arrived on the sport after getting information about the mishap.
